Karachi police announces traffic plan for March 11

KARACHI: The Karachi Traffic Police have issued a comprehensive traffic management plan for the main Youm-e-Ali procession, which will take place on March 11 (21st Ramadan) in the city.

Pakistan observes the day through mourning processions and religious gatherings, which include security arrangements to mark the death of Hazrat Ali (RA).

The main procession in Karachi will begin at 1 pm from Nishtar Park and follow its traditional route before concluding at Imambargah Hussainia Iranian in Kharadar.

Major Roads to Remain Closed

According to traffic officials, several key roads will remain closed to general traffic during the procession to ensure security and smooth movement of mourners.

The street will be closed from Guru Mandir to Tower, while Corridor Three will be closed from Saddar Dawakhana to Regal Chowk for traffic. Traffic police have announced several diversions to minimize disruption: The traffic from District Central will be redirected to Nishtar Road and Garden through Lasbela.

The traffic from Liaquatabad will be redirected to Lasbela and Garden through Guru Mandir.

Commuters travelling from Hasan Square to Peoples Chowrangi are advised to use New MA Jinnah Road, Jail Flyover, Teen Hatti, and Nishtar Road as alternate routes.

Traffic will be restricted on Shahrah-e-Quaideen at the Society Light Signal.
