KARACHI: The professor from Karachi, Dr. Tariq Jamil, made a revolutionary discovery in construction material. After eight years of research, he has invented an eco-friendly cement that boasts an impressive reduction of carbon dioxide and greenhouse gas emissions compared to its conventional counterpart.
This cement is sustainable and cheaper, practically poised to change the course of history for the construction industry. According to Dr. Jamil, this new cement reduces the emission of carbon dioxide by as much as 40%.
Lastly, it is $25 per ton cheaper and ten times tougher than the traditional cement, acting as a magnet for builders and architects.
The benefits of this eco-friendly cement stretch even beyond these: buildings constructed with this material will remain cooler in summer and warmer in winter, thus effectively curtailing energy bills.
Furthermore, structures close to coastal regions will have a higher resistance toward corrosion of any embedded steel reinforcement, which in turn extends the lifespan of these buildings and minimizes the costs of repairs.
This is a big step forward; in this imaginative research, cement has the power to change how the construction industry acts. The discovery was a happy moment for NED University in terms of material science development and espoused the need for in-depth investment in research and development to create solutions that are both sustainable and wholesome for the environment.
