KARACHI: Karachi police have arrested Babra, also known as Bebo, on charges of supplying drugs to young citizens in different areas of the city.
The South Darakhshan District Police confirmed the arrest and are continuing their investigation into the vast drug network.
Babra, a resident of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, initially gained attention as a model in 2007 and later as a TikTok personality. According to details of the special investigation obtained by City21, she completed her education up to intermediate and soon entered the entertainment industry.
Authorities said Babra faced a turbulent family life, which included her parents’ divorce and her mother’s remarriage in 2017. She allegedly faced daily arguments at her stepfather’s house, which led her to move to an apartment in Muslim Commercial. There, she continued her modeling career and expanded her social media presence, gaining popularity on TikTok.
Despite her public image, police say Babra was leading a double life. She began attending private parties in upscale neighborhoods, where she was introduced to drugs including crystal meth (commonly known as “ice”) and cocaine. Over time, she allegedly developed an addiction and began distributing drugs at these gatherings and through personal contacts.
During police questioning, Babra admitted to drug use and her role in supplying drugs to areas such as Defense. She also admitted that she had been arrested twice before and had confessed to theft. Her activities allegedly included supplying drugs to clients at private events and in elite social circles.
Police officials said that surveillance of private parties will be increased, and possible abuses by influencers on digital platforms will be monitored. More arrests are possible as the investigation into Babra’s network and associates continues.
