KARACHI: The final list of Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2024 retake results compiled by IBA Sukkur has revealed that only 10 candidates from Karachi managed to make it to the top 100.
According to the results announced by IBA Sukkur, a majority of students from Karachi failed to clear the test as only 43.29% of the candidates cleared the test for MBBS admissions.
For BDS, 50.66% of the candidates managed to qualify, the MDCAT 2024 results showed.
The retake of MDCAT 2024 was taken by 32,200 candidates, with students from Ranipur, Badin, Khairpur, and Tharparkar securing the highest scores of 192 marks.
It is to be noted that the retake of MDCAT 2024 was conducted on the orders of the Sindh High Court (SHC) on complaints of paper leakage.
Following the orders, the Sindh government has tasked IBA Sukkur to conduct the entry test for the Medical and Dental College Entrance Test 2024.
Meanwhile, the Medical and Dental College Entrance Test (MDCAT 2024) will once again be held in Islamabad on December 22.
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has been informed about the latest schedule of MDCAT 2024. The sources added that a decision on the roll numbers of the candidates and the examination centers is expected next week.
The sources added that more than 30 examination centers will be set up across Islamabad for the test for the 17,597 candidates registered for the re-examination of the Medical and Dental College Entrance Test 2024.
The recent registrations have shown a sharp decline in the number of candidates wishing to take the test. Earlier 53,105 candidates were registered for the Medical and Dental College Entrance Test but now only 17,597 candidates have registered themselves.
