KP govt launches helicopter service at Shandur Polo Festival to facilitate tourists

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to launch helicopter safari service packages for tourists at the Shandur Polo Festival in Chitral, which will start on June 28, 2024.

The helicopter safari service will be launched in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Culture, Archeology and Museums of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Petronet Aviation.

According to a statement issued by the KP Culture and Tourism Authority,  as per the instructions of Advisor Tourism and Culture Zahid Chanzeb, the DG KP Culture and Tourism Authority Barkatullah Marwat had recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Petronet Aviation. The service was inaugurated by Advisor to the Chief Minister on Tourism, Zahid Khan.

Advisor to the Chief Minister on Tourism said that various tourism and helicopter safari service packages have been introduced for tourists at the Shandur Polo Festival offering breathtaking views of Chitral Airport, the Kalash Valley, Lowari Tunnel, Tirich Mir Peak, and the beautiful meadows of Qaqlasht.

Package 1: Chitral Airport to Kalash Valley and Lowari Tunnel

Package 2: Chitral Airport and Treich Mir

Package 3: Chitral Airport, Treich Mir, and Qaqlasht Meadows

Package 4: Chitral Airport to Shandur Polo Festival
