PESHAWAR: In a positive move towards development, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has introduced the ”Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme”, offering interest-free loans up to Rs 1.5 million for housing purposes.

To carry out the project, the Housing Department and Bank of Khyber inked a memorandum of agreement. Cabinet members Dr. Amjad Ali Khan and Muzammil Aslam, as well as representatives from the relevant departments and the Bank of Khyber, attended the ceremony, which was presided over by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

The program’s objective is to offer financial support for the construction of new homes or the remodeling and expansion of existing ones. The initiative has a straightforward seven-year payback structure and an allocation of Rs 4 billion. A maximum monthly amount of Rs 18,000 will be paid by beneficiaries, guaranteeing affordability.

Applicants must be landowners to be eligible. For the following seven years, the program will continue to run on a revolving fund basis.

Chief Minister Gandapur stressed the government’s dedication to improve housing for low-income groups during his remarks at the ceremony. “One of our main goals is to provide high-quality housing amenities. Our commitment to improving the lives of the poor is reflected in the Ehasaas Apna Ghar Scheme,” he stated.

In order to guarantee that only worthy people gain from the initiative, he emphasized the significance of transparency.

In order to empower individuals on a social and economic level, the Chief Minister also emphasized other welfare programs under the Ehasaas program, such as Ehasaas Nawaz, Ehasaas Hunar, and Ehasaas Rozgar.

It is anticipated that the province’s low-income people will benefit socially and economically from this historic project, which will also greatly enhance housing conditions.
