ISLAMABAD: In a landmark development, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced a long-anticipated housing scheme for police personnel, making it the first of its kind in the last 25 years.
The NPFD One Capital Park City project targets uplifting the living conditions for police officers, their families, and those of martyrs. While launching the project in Islamabad, Naqvi stressed that the housing scheme would provide deserving plots to police personnel, families of deceased officers, and those who got injured or died while on duty.
Additionally, Naqvi emphasized the determination of the government to give police welfare top priority through the National Police Foundation. He himself distributed allotments of land to police officers across different provinces, as a show of gratitude for their work.
The Interior Minister offered his congratulations to allottee police officers and stressed the need to care for those who serve the nation sincerely.
Naqvi praised the Foundation for generating profits for rehabilitation programs in the police force. Furthermore, he assured that the government is working diligently to cater to the needs of the martyr families who deserve the government’s assistance.
In addition, Naqvi also asserted that the injured police officers continue to receive support from the National Police Foundation.
Moving ahead, the Interior Minister envisioned a joint project between the National Police Foundation and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) for the benefit of police personnel. It also proposes amenities for the families of martyrs and disabled police officers. The ceremony was attended by senior officials, including the Inspector General of Police Punjab.
