Lahore High Court dismisses three civil judges over misconduct

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has dismissed three civil judges from their posts on charges of misconduct. The notification was issued by the registrar after approval from the court’s administrative committee.

According to the notification, Civil Judge Lahore Naseem Akhtar Naz has been removed from service. Civil Judge Rawalpindi Muhammad Aslam was also dismissed after the allegations of misconduct against him were proven.

Civil Judge Jhelum Sarmad Saleem was likewise removed from his position. According to the notification, Sarmad Saleem had gone abroad after taking one month’s leave and later sent his resignation without resuming charge of his office.

Chief Justice Aalia Neelum had constituted an inquiry committee headed by the District and Sessions Judge of Jhelum. The inquiry concluded that the judge had sent his resignation without returning to duty after the completion of his leave.
