LAHORE: The Punjab Wildlife Department has decided to award the e-ticketing contract to a private company to operate the parking and entry of Lahore Safari Zoo.

Following the revamping of the Lahore Safari Zoo, the Punjab government has scheduled the auction for August 6 to grant a contract to the private sector. The reserve price for the e-ticketing contract auction has been set at Rs 8 crore and the successful bidder will need to deposit Rs 16 lakh as security.

However, the management and care of the animals and birds in the Safari Park will remain under the control of Punjab Wildlife.

According to the details, the private company will handle e-tickets for parking, entry tickets, lion and tiger safari tickets, electric vehicle tickets, and aquarium entry. Additionally, the company will also look over the maintenance and repair of electric and other vehicles used in the lion and tiger safari.

DG Punjab Wildlife Mudassir Riaz said that the e-ticketing contract would be valid for two years, with the possibility of a one-year extension upon its expiration. Successful bidders will only have the authority to charge tickets at fixed rates.

Currently, a private company operates electric swings and horse riding facilities in the Lahore Safari Zoo.
