Latest fee update for new arms license in Pakistan 2024

ISLAMABAD – Pakistani citizens must obtain a license from the Ministry of Interior to possess non-prohibited and prohibited bore weapons.

The Ministry issues the permit after verifying the documents submitted by the applicant to obtain the arms license. Before applying for a new arms license, you must fulfill the following conditions:

Valid CNIC or NICO

Age: 25 years

Not considered inappropriate by local police

Is neither a proscribed person nor a member of any proscribed organization, nor is he suspected of being involved in any anti-state activities.

Not physically, mentally, or psychologically weak to bear arms.

Procedure for Issuance of an Arms License

The step-by-step process for obtaining an arms license is as follows:

Seek approval from the Ministry of Interior.

Issuance of an approval letter

Uploading approval to the NADRA system through an online process by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Biometric of the licensee and issuance of a demand notice (both by NADRA) within the prescribed period.

Purchase of arms from an authorized dealer and their registration on demand notice

Registration of the demand note in the concerned DC office

Submission of a demand note to NADRA for the issue of a license

Documents required for the issuance of a New Arms License 2024

Application (handwritten or typed) sent to Section Officer (Arms), M/O Admission.

Photocopy of CNIC (attested)

Police Clearance Certificate

Affidavit (Attested by the Notary Public)

Filer documents (if any)

Fee structure for a new arms license 2024

The New Arm license fee consists of a government fee and a NADRA fee. The total fee for a restricted license is Rs 28,000 (a 25,000 government fee and a 3,000 NADRA fee).

The government fee for a non-restricted license is Rs 12,500, while the NADRA fee is Rs 1,500, making the total fee Rs 1,400.

It will be reduced to half if the filer fulfills the prescribed tax threshold (100,000 for PB and 50,000 for NPB) for each type of arms license.
