LHC to hear case on rising petroleum product prices

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has set a hearing on a case about the rise in petroleum product prices.

Justice Khalid Ishaq will hear the case on September 30. The court has asked for a report from the federal government.

The petition was filed by the Judicial Activism Panel (JAP) via Advocate Azhar Siddique.

The petitioner stated that, whereas petroleum product prices have declined in the global market, they have increased in Pakistan.

The government must define the method for raising and lowering petroleum product pricing.

Earlier, the government of Pakistan announced the prices of petroleum products for the next 15 days.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the price of petrol has been maintained, while the price of diesel has been increased by Rs 2.78 per liter.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the price of petrol has remained at Rs 264.61 per liter.

After an increase of Rs 2.78 per liter, the new price of diesel has been fixed at Rs 272.77 per liter.
