Local holiday announced in Narowal on November 1

NOROWAL: Deputy Commissioner Narowal Syed Hassan Raza has announced that there will be a public holiday in the entire district on Saturday, November 1, on the occasion of the annual Urs of Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah Lasaani of Alipur Syedan ​​Sharif.

An official notification has also been issued by the Deputy Commissioner’s Office. A large number of pilgrims are expected to arrive in Alipur Syedan ​​Sharif on the occasion of the Urs, where devotees from all over the country will arrive to participate. Like every year, special arrangements are being made on the occasion of the Urs this year too.

Strict security measures will be taken on the instructions of the district administration to avoid any untoward incident. Special duties have been assigned to the police, Rescue 1122 and health department staff.

According to sources, Quran recitation, Naat recitation, and spiritual gatherings will be organized during the Urs.

Ulema and great Mashaikhs will shed light on the religious and spiritual services of Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah Lasani. Special arrangements are being made for food, ablution and accommodation for the pilgrims.

Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza has appealed to the public to cooperate with the district administration on the occasion of the Urs and help maintain peace and order. He said that the message of Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah is of unity, peace and brotherhood, which is the need of the hour to adopt in today’s era.

The notification issued by the district government has said that despite the holiday, essential services like hospitals, emergency services, police and municipal staff will continue to perform their duties so that public convenience is not affected. Thus, on November 1, the Urs Pak celebrations of Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah Lasaani will be celebrated with religious fervor across Narowal.
