ISLAMABAD: Islamabad administration has expanded its vehicle emission test facilities by increasing the number of inspection points from one to four.
Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon said motorists can now get their vehicles’ emissions tested at Lake View Park, F-9 Park, and Metro Cash and Carry, apart from the original site at D-Chowk.
He visited all four places and appealed to the citizens to get their vehicles inspected in time. The move is designed to offer easier access to motorists while ensuring adherence to environmental regulations.
The Islamabad Transport Authority, earlier this week, initiated a massive crackdown against smoke-emitting vehicles to support a healthier Air Quality Index within the federal capital.
The authorities declared that a Vehicular Emission Clearance Certificate is now required for all drivers, and no vehicle would be allowed on the roads of the city without it.
