LAHORE – Thousands of Pakistanis have been facing difficulties for several months due to the delay in the issuance of more than five and a half lakh passports since the last few months.

The Passport and Immigration Department was unable to deliver passports on time due to machine readability issues and passport delivery issues.

Hundreds of Pakistani passport holders residing in other countries like USA, UK and Canada have been facing delays for the past several months.

Due to the delay in the issuance of passports, the aspirants of Hajj and Umrah are also suffering from mental agony.

Victims complain that the Passport and Immigration Department is giving priority to only urgent and expedited applicants, leaving others to wait for months.
