QUETTA: Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Chairman Mahmood Khan Achakzai warned that Pakistan will face ongoing political instability and uncertainty if the military continues to interfere in politics.

Addressing a public meeting in Qilla Saifullah, Achakzai vowed to resist any attempts to undermine the Constitution. He drew parallels between the treatment of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Imran Khan, stressing that history should not repeat itself.

Achakzai recalled the 1983 procession in Quetta, where PkMAP demanded the restoration of democracy, resulting in brutal crackdowns and casualties.

In addition, he demanded the immediate release of Imran Khan and other political prisoners, warning of potential civil unrest if they remain detained.

The PkMAP chief expressed solidarity with the judiciary for upholding constitutional supremacy and reiterated his party’s commitment to democracy.

Achakzai criticized the government’s ban on the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement, labeling it unconstitutional. He also condemned Israel’s treatment of Palestinians, urging international intervention for a two-state solution.

Moreover, Achakzai questioned the legitimacy of the February 8 elections, describing them as grossly rigged, and asserted that the resulting government lacks constitutional and moral legitimacy.
