A mother of three children was killed when a bear attacked her in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mansehra on Thursday.
She was farming in the Jagan region of Balakot when she was attacked. Locals claim that bear assaults have increased in frequency in several parts of the town.
After the attack, the woman was taken to King Abdullah Hospital but was not able to be saved.

The growing fear of bear attacks in the area has prompted locals to demand that the government take swift action.
