ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi recently visited Margalla Enclave to check on the progress of a residential project, a joint venture between the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Defence Housing Authority (DHA).
The project is being developed on a massive 10,000 kanals of CDA land in the Kuri area, with an agreement in place to allocate 55% of the developed plots to CDA and 45% to DHA.
Plot allotments have been invited by DHA with balloting expected after February 14, 2025. During the minister’s visit, directions were given to officials to expedite the construction works while ensuring that all resources are used to build new road access to Margalla Enclave with a duration to be a maximum of five minutes traveling time from the Prime Minister’s residence.
The project is set for great development in the upcoming months; half of the development work is supposed to be completed by August 14, and the entire project completed by December 31 when the title to the plots will be transferred to owners.
The housing scheme will offer different sizes of plots ranging from 5 marlas to 1 Kanal, which will include a lake as part of the project.
In the meantime, the CDA is set to put up its share of plots for auction soon, building excitement in potential buyers. Minister Naqvi’s visit to Margalla Enclave is by no means his first foray into supervising giant infrastructure projects, as he had previously seen the resumption of the Margalla Road extension project as well as the Serena Chowk Interchange project.
