ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif has shed light on the May 9 riots, labeling them as a conspiracy against Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir. Sharif asserted that the orchestrated scheme was masterminded by none other than the founding chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, and his party.

Speaking at a private news channel interview, Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the nefarious nature of the plot, attributing it to political adversaries aiming to disrupt the stability within the ranks of the military establishment.

During the discussion, Sharif also touched upon the repercussions faced by PTI, particularly the loss of their iconic electoral symbol, the ‘Bat,’ which he attributed to the party’s own missteps.

Addressing the recent developments surrounding Imran Khan’s 10-year sentence, Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of upholding the law, highlighting that the focus should be on ensuring justice and adherence to legal procedures, rather than debating the quality of decisions made.
