ISLAMABAD: The medical facilities that existed for retired Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employees have been suspended, creating anxiety for former employees.
The State Life Insurance Company received these services after privatization, but many retirees remain unable to complete their biometric verification process, which blocks their access to medical treatment.
The insurance company explained that doctors will not deliver medical services until patients complete their biometric authentication process. A large number of retired staff members went to the PIA Medical Center, which is located in Karachi, to obtain medical help.
According to sources, the PIA administration has stopped all medical services for retired employees since February 15, which has created anxiety among employees about their medical treatment options.
