ISLAMABAD: Under the government’s austerity and energy conservation program, the working hours of the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Service have been restricted, after which citizens will face significant changes in travel facilities.

According to the details, the Metro Bus Service will now be suspended at 9 PM daily, while all stations will be completely closed after 9:40 PM. The last bus will leave Rawalpindi for Islamabad and Islamabad for Rawalpindi at 9 PM, after which no service will be available. The aim of this decision is to reduce energy consumption and ensure fuel savings in view of the current global situation.

Officials say that due to severe shortage of petroleum products around the world and an unprecedented increase in prices, the government has taken this step so that energy resources in the country can be used in a better way. Although the situation in Pakistan is currently being described as under control, proactive measures are being taken to deal with possible future challenges.

According to experts, the reduction in the working hours of the metro bus service will affect thousands of citizens who travel daily, especially those who travel late at night due to offices or other commitments. Citizens have given mixed reactions to the decision, with some calling it a temporary necessity while others calling it an increase in public hardship.

The government says that the decision has been taken on a temporary basis and may be reviewed when the situation improves. Officials have appealed to the public to support the government in saving energy and avoid unnecessary travel.

Furthermore, the government has assured that the supply of petroleum products is being ensured in the country and all possible steps are being taken to deal with any shortage. According to a government spokesperson, this challenge can be overcome with the unity and collective efforts of the nation and Pakistan will emerge victorious from this crisis.
