ISLAMABAD: As the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protestors reached D-Chowk, authorities have suspended mobile data in Islamabad, creating difficulties for residents and businesses in accessing online services.
Internet disruption was also reported in several cities across Punjab, including Rawalpindi, Multan, Rajanpur, Gujrat, and Dera Ghazi Khan.
Moreover, users all reported an outage on social media platforms including WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook. Reports from users across the country describe widespread access issues, with many struggling to use social media and communication platforms.
Downdetector, an internet service monitoring website, confirmed that users in Pakistan were experiencing problems accessing these platforms, alongside general internet slowdowns.
The website chart also showed that users reported disruption in accessing TikTok on Tuesday, with the reports surging at around 4:00 pm.
Earlier, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) convoys led by Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, and other leaders reached D-Chowk, located in high-security Red Zone.
