KARACHI: The air routes that serve multiple key destinations within Karachi airspace will remain closed until further notice because of the Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) that Pakistan Airports Authority issued.
The Flight Information Region advisory indicates that all routes will remain suspended during the time period between 07:00 and 10:30 from 28 April to 29 April.
The authority announced that all operations will face restrictions which extend from ground level to every altitude point, while specific corridors, including the route which connects Karachi with Nawabshah, remain closed.
The airspace sectors that extend between Dosti and Karachi, together with the main aviation routes which include Milom and Tapdo and Bewin and Banor, face operational difficulties.
The Airspace from Ormio has suspended all routes that connect to multiple destinations and the Pexor to Banor corridor. Airlines and pilots have received instructions to follow different flight paths, which include one-way and two-way routes that will reduce operational interruptions.
The Karachi to Dodu and Nawabshah route now provides new paths, which include extra routing options that extend from PG to IDIBA and Nawabshah and Telem.
The PAA has advised airlines to exercise caution in flight planning, while passengers are encouraged to remain in contact with their carriers for the latest updates on schedules.
