ISLAMABAD: Despite the ongoing legal proceedings against Bahria Town, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has assured that the assets of residents in the town are safe.

In a statement issued on Monday, the bureau rejected social media claims that residents may lose their properties, calling them part of a “deep conspiracy” by certain groups to acquire assets at unfairly low prices.

NAB clarified that its action is directly focused on properties owned by Bahria Town and does not extend to homes purchased by individual owners.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has pledged to fully protect the rights of Bahria Town residents, urging them to live their daily lives without fear.

In its statement, the bureau expressed its resolve to pursue its legal proceedings without succumbing to any pressure, stressing that the process will continue until the “return of the looted money” under the court-approved plea bargain mechanism.

The case is related to the ongoing auction of Bahria Town assets by NAB in connection with a £190 million reference involving PTI founder Imran Khan and others. The auction is being conducted to recover outstanding dues as per the settlement agreement.
