ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) continues its mission to assist citizens through its mobile registration vans, which it sends to remote areas throughout Pakistan.
The mobile units will operate in remote areas between April 6 and April 11. The initiative aims to provide essential registration services to residents who live far from NADRA centers.

The Senate Standing Committee on Interior approved a crucial government bill that gives the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) expanded authority to control identity documents while enhancing national security systems.
The Senate received the bill from Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, who acted on Interior Ministry instructions. The committee approved the legislation, which will be presented to the Senate for final consideration during the next session.
The proposed amendment will enable the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to suspend all Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) documents for a maximum duration of 60 days.
Interior Ministry officials explained that identity cards represent extremely sensitive documents that directly connect to both national security and economic stability.
NADRA must receive stronger regulatory powers because any misuse of these documents will create serious national security threats.
The ministry explained that NADRA encountered operational difficulties because existing legal frameworks do not permit it to carry out its work efficiently. Criminal groups typically use legal loopholes to postpone court cases instead of complying with legal requirements.
