ISLAMABAD: National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has removed Director General Zulfiqar Ahmed from his post over a fake degree.
According to media reports, Sargodha Region Director General Zulfiqar Ahmed was dismissed after fraud was found in his MBA degree.
The President of George Mason University, USA, whose signature was on the degree, was not serving at the time.
Moreover, the name of the college on his BBA degree did not match the name at the time of issuance.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) conducted an inquiry on NADRA’s request and verified the information provided by NADRA.
The Islamabad High Court upheld HEC’s decision to declare the degree equivalent.
Zulfiqar Ahmed failed to respond satisfactorily to NADRA’s show cause notice.
Following the High Court’s decision and unsatisfactory explanation, the NADRA chairman initiated disciplinary action, which resulted in his dismissal.
