KARACHI: Famous singer and rapper Talha Anjum is set to make his acting debut in the film “Kattar Karachi,” creating quite a buzz among the fans since its trailer promises a high-drama and thrill cinematic experience.

“Kattar Karachi” is a crime thriller that delves into the gritty crime world of Karachi, weaving together a noirish visual style and a stakes-laden tale.

The prominent cast includes Imran Ashraf, coming back to the big screen as a powerful mafia boss. Kinza Hashmi and Syed Jameel are the other two prominent faces with Kinza donning a stronger and more serious character than her ones in romantic dramas.

Talha Anjum will play the role of a protagonist, who would do anything to defend his position and create powerful clashes of power and passion.

Talha Anjum expressed his excitement about making a debut in the film industry and shared a poster of the film on social media with the caption: “I am very excited to share this amazing news with my fans—my film “KATTAR KARACHI” is releasing in cinemas across Pakistan! Thank you for the love and support you all have shown to me. Here’s to new beginnings and unforgettable journeys!” The film is set to release in cinemas in Pakistan on December 20, 2024.

That aside, Talha Anjum has now earned the tag of the most streamed local artist in Pakistan for 2024, dethroning Atif Aslam, who held the top position for three consecutive years.

The announcement was made as part of Spotify’s Wrapped 2024, which takes stock of the music that the world and Pakistan enjoyed throughout the year. Talha Anjum is now among the key artists in the hip-hop scene in Pakistan, rising from the underground to mainstream success out of sheer passion for rap and as a member of Young Stunners.
