ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new B-Form system, which changes the authority’s process for issuing identification documents to Pakistani citizens who live in their country and in foreign nations.

Under the updated process, each child will now receive a separate B-Form in three different stages, which will establish three specific periods during which the B-Forms will remain valid.

The forms will also include photographs and, at later stages, biometric data. According to the new system, the first B-Form will be issued at the time of birth without a photograph.

The form will remain active until the child turns three years old. After the child turns three, a second B-Form will be issued, this time including a photograph.

The document will stay valid until the child turns ten. A new B-Form will be issued to the child after they reach the age of ten. The process requires the collection of the child’s photograph, iris scan, and fingerprints. The form will remain active until the child turns eighteen.

Parents have been advised to register their child’s birth at the Union Council within one month and obtain the initial B-Form from NADRA.

They should renew their B-Form before its validity period ends. Parents who want to renew their B-Form can visit the nearest NADRA office with their child or use the Pak-ID mobile application to apply from home.

The new system provides updated identification records that track children’s development throughout their various growth stages.
