National Assembly expenses hit Rs255m in month of September

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly incurred a total expenditure of Rs 255.285,077 in the month of September 2025. Of these expenses, Rs 156.6 million was spent on the basic salary of the members of the assembly.

As per the details available with ABN News, Rs 91.35 million was spent on miscellaneous expenses allowance, Rs 91.35 million on telecommunication allowance, Rs 91.35 million on office management allowance, Rs 90.9 million on honorarium, Rs 15.33 million on medical charges, Rs 53.186 million on traveling allowance, Rs 52.849 million on income tax from the salaries of the members of the assembly, and Rs 26.21 million on house rent.

Thus, a total of Rs 55,470,682 was collected in income tax and house rent from the total expenditure. The previous salary of the members of the assembly was about Rs 2.25 lakh.

Now after the increase, their salary is Rs 517,000. Since there is no opposition leader, the expenses of the opposition leader and his office are not included in this.
