GWADAR: The new Gwadar International Airport is all set to become operational on August 14, marking a major milestone in Pakistan’s infrastructure development.

Sources have indicated that possibly Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will soft launch the new facility.

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) special flight from Karachi is expected to be the first flight to land at the new airport, marking the start of its operations. The airport’s runways are designed to meet international standards, ensuring the highest quality and safety for all incoming and outgoing flights.

The construction of New Gwadar International Airport is a major project with a total cost of Rs 54.98 billion. This investment underscores the government’s commitment to enhance regional connectivity and support the broader economic development of Gwadar and its surrounding areas.

As the new airport prepares to open its doors, it is expected to play a major role in boosting tourism, trade and investment in the region, further cementing Gwadar’s strategic importance on the global map.
