LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced the new prices of wheat and flour in the province.
According to the notification issued by the Punjab government, the price of a 20 kg bag of flour in Lahore and Rawalpindi has been fixed at 1840 rupees. However, the price of wheat in Lahore has been fixed at Rs 3000 per 40 kg and in Rawalpindi at Rs 3050 per 40 kg.
In Attock and Jhelum, the price of a 20 kg bag of flour has been fixed at Rs 1,820, while in Chakwal, Kasur and Sheikhupura, the price of a 20 kg bag of flour is Rs 1,780. In other cities/districts of the province, a bag of 20 kg flour will be sold between Rs.1600 and Rs.1680.
According to the notification, the new price of wheat in Mandi Bahauddin, Wazirabad, Hafizabad and Multan will be Rs2900 per 40 kg. The new price of wheat in Rahim Yar Khan, Khushab and Chiniot will be Rs2850 per 40 kg.
In Sargodha, Faisalabad and Toba Tek Singh, the price of wheat will be Rs 2850 per 40 kg. In Bahawalnagar, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur and Bhakkar, the new price of wheat has been fixed at Rs 2,800 per 40 kg.
Fortified flour will also be sold at the same rate and anyone found overcharging people will be prosecuted under criminal law, the notification said.
