NHA increases toll tax on national highways & motorways

ISLAMABAD: The National Highway Authority (NHA) has increased toll tax on national highways and motorways, with the new rates effective from April 1.

Cars will be charged Rs70, vans Rs150 and buses Rs250, according to an official notification. Two- and three-axle trucks will pay Rs300, while large trucks will be charged Rs550.

The significant increase is applicable on major motorways including M1, M3, M4, M5, M14, and E35. The toll for cars on the M1 Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway has increased from Rs500 to Rs550, while the M3 Lahore-Abdul Hakeem Motorway has now increased from Rs700 to Rs800.

Similarly, the toll on the M4 Pindi Bhattian-Faisalabad-Multan Motorway has increased from Rs 950 to Rs 1,050, and the M5 Multan-Sukkur Motorway charges have increased from Rs 1,100 to Rs 1,200. The toll on the M14 Dera Ismail Khan-Hakla Motorway is now Rs 650, and the toll on the E35 Hassan Abdal-Havelian-Mansehra route has increased to Rs 300.

For heavy vehicles, the toll rates now range from Rs 850 to Rs 5,750 on these routes.
