One dies as fire breaks out at Karachi’s Shah Faisal Colony

KARACHI: A fire broke out in a residential building in Shah Faisal Colony on Wednesday, killing one person and damaging 10 motorcycles.

According to the fire brigade and rescue sources, the fire started from the illegal petrol pump and tire shop in Shah Faisal Colony No. 3 and spread to the residential building above.

The body of the deceased has been removed; many shops were also affected by the fire.

Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice of the fire in a residential building in Shah Faisal Colony and directed to speed up the relief operations. He directed the Commissioner Karachi and Deputy Commissioner Malir to immediately reach the spot and supervise the relief activities.

The Chief Minister stressed the importance of protecting lives and ensuring safe evacuation of residents, directing the authorities to be aware of the situation.

He said the fire was allegedly caused by an illegal petrol pump and demanded legal action against those selling illegal petrol.

Furthermore, he ordered a crackdown on all such illegal petrol businesses, saying that no one has the right to endanger human lives.
