One FC official martyred as security forces thwart attack in Balochistan’s Zhob

QUETTA: At least two terrorists were killed and one FC official martyred after security forces effectively thwarted the suicide attack on a Frontier Corps (FC) Post in Balochistan’s Zhob District, the military’s media wing said in a statement.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, in the early hours of October 9, a group of terrorists tried to enter the camp but was effectively thwarted by the security forces personnel.

According to the Zhob Assistant Commissioner Naveed Alam, during the exchange of fire, 13 people were injured. He said, at the time of the attack, 45 FC officials, 10 Levies personnel, and five soldiers were present.

As a result, two terrorists, including a suicide bomber and high-value target (HVT) Terrorist Umari, were killed, before they could cause the intended damage, the statement read.

The ISPR statement further wrote, “Terrorist Umar aka Umari was involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces as well as innocent civilians, including the recent attack on convoy of Deputy Commissioner, Sherani.”

During the intense exchange of fire, Havildar Jamshed Khan, 39, hailing from Dera Bugti, having fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced Shahadat, it added.

“Sanitization operation is being conducted to neutralize any other terrorist present in the area.,” the statement added.
