One killed in Bajaur remote-controlled bomb blast

BAJAUR: A local resident was killed in a remote-controlled bomb blast in Bajaur district of Malakand division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, here on Monday.

According to police, the blast took place in the Joragh Aseel Targao area of ​​Barang tehsil, where unidentified militants had planted the device. The deceased has been identified as Waliat Khan.

Bajaur District Police Officer (DPO) Waqas Rafique said that no individual or group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

He added that investigations are underway, and authorities have launched operations to arrest those responsible.

It is worth noting that target killings and improvised explosive device (IED) attacks have been frequently observed in the tribal district of Bajaur, bordering Afghanistan.

Such incidents often target tribal elders as well as members of religious and political groups.
