ISLAMABAD: A joint virtual meeting was held between Pakistan-Australia Parliamentary Friendship Groups in National Assembly of Pakistan and Senate of Pakistan with Australia-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group in Parliament of Australia. The meeting explored to boost bilateral ties, especially during coronavirus pandemic.
The meeting was chaired jointly by Convener, Pakistan-Australia PFG Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb and Senator Rana Maqbool Ahmed. President Australia-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Committee Rowan Ramsey chaired the meeting from the Australian Parliament.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Parliamentary Friendship Groups of both countries can play a pivotal role to promote parliamentary relations through parliamentary exchanges.
Rana Maqbool Ahmed stressed the need to explore new avenues of cooperation in various areas of mutual interest. The issues related to Pakistani students studying in various Australian institutions were also raised and Australian side was requested to facilitate in solving problems faced by Pakistani students.
