Pak Navy found six more bodies of missing fishermen

Thatta: Pakistan Navy, in collaboration with other rescue officials, has successfully recovered six additional bodies of the fishermen who went missing after their boat capsized six days ago near Keti Bandar in Thatta.

The Assistant Commissioner of Keti Bandar, Majid Hameed, confirmed that a total of 14 fishermen were reported missing on Wednesday when their boat, named Al-Asad, sank in the waters near Keti Bandar. Out of the 45 crew members onboard, 31 were rescued following the tragic incident.

Following the capsizing of the boat, a search operation was launched to locate the missing fishermen. During the ongoing operation, rescue officials located four bodies near Keti Bandar, which were subsequently transferred to Karachi.

To date, a total of 10 bodies have been recovered during the search operation, while efforts are ongoing to locate the remaining four missing fishermen.

Earlier this month, on March 5, another fishing boat carrying approximately 50 fishermen capsized in the deep sea near Thatta, as reported by the Fisher Folk Forum. The Coastal Media Centre spokesperson stated that the incident occurred in the Arabian Sea, highlighting the dangers faced by fishermen in the region.
