Pakistan Achieves Significant Milestones in Anti-Terror Operations in 2023

Throughout the year 2023, security forces conducted a total of 18,736 intelligence-based operations nationwide.

Rawalpindi  – In the year 2023, Pakistan has witnessed a notable improvement in the security situation across the region, with effective measures taken in the realms of national defense, healthcare, and counter-terrorism efforts. Recent terrorist incidents have been met with swift action, leading security forces to the hideouts of terrorists, some of whom sought refuge in Afghanistan.

Throughout the year 2023, security forces conducted a total of 18,736 intelligence-based operations nationwide. As a result, 566 terrorists were neutralized, and 5,161 were apprehended. Timely actions also led to the successful targeting of several highly sought-after terrorists.

Due to the efficacy of intelligence-based operations, prominent figures such as Gulzar Imam Shumby and Sarfraz Banglazi, key commanders of the Baloch National Army, renounced terrorism and rejoined the national mainstream.

In Balochistan, 15,063 intelligence-based operations were carried out, resulting in the elimination of 109 terrorists and the capture of 1,942 others. Punjab witnessed 190 operations, Gilgit-Baltistan 14, and Sindh 1,987, leading to the apprehension of 10 terrorists in Sindh.

The fight against terrorism has come at a cost, with Pakistan’s armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians making sacrifices. Over 260 officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army, along with nearly 1,000 individuals overall, have laid down their lives in the ongoing struggle against terrorism.

The people of Pakistan and its armed forces remain steadfast in their commitment to eradicating terrorism. The sacrifices made in the fight against terrorism serve as a testament to the nation’s resilience and determination to secure peace and stability.

As we look ahead to the coming year, Pakistan’s security forces, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, vow to continue the war against terrorism with renewed vigor and determination. The collective efforts of the security apparatus and the unwavering support of the Pakistani people are expected to bring an end to the scourge of terrorism in the near future.
