Pakistan announces ‘IT courses’ with assistance from Huawei; Here’s how to apply

ISLAMABAD:  China’s leading tech company Huawei agreed to provide training to Pakistani youth in various technology-related courses including information technology and artificial intelligence, which will begin next month, July 2024.

Participating in the budget debate, Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja said that during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China, it was agreed that Huawei would train 200,000 young people in the information technology sector.

The minister said that Huawei would start work on the Islamabad smart city and safe city projects for other cities, adding that the gaming industry would be promoted in the country.

Shaza Fatima said that the present government under the vision of PM Shehbaz Sharif is taking effective steps to promote the Information and Communications Terime Minister of Pakistchnology (ICT) in the country.

She said that the youth make up 70 percent of the country’s population and the government is determined to equip them with IT training so they can secure jobs.

Furthermore, she added that the government would train around 150,000 young people in the IT sector with three to six-month IT courses, which would enable the youth to earn a respectable income in both local and international markets.

Moreover, IT Minister Shaza Fatima said that funds have been allocated in the PSDP for the establishment of IT parks in  Islamabad and Karachi. “Government is determined to increase IT exports to 25 billion dollars,” she added.

How to Apply for the Huawei IT Course

The IT Ministry has yet to share the details regarding the registration process for the IT course. Details about applying for the courses will be updated here.

However, the government has announced that Huawei IT courses will start next month and will be three to six months long.
