Pakistan army deployed in federal capital amid PTI protest

ISLAMABAD: According to latest development, Pakistan army is deployed under Article 245 of the constitution in federal capital to maintain law and order in the region due to last night incident in which at least four Rangers lost the battle of their life when heavy load vehicle ran over them on Srinagar Highway in Islamabad.

Army personals are deployed due to the ongoing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest in Islamabad. The PTI has been protesting since November 24, 2024 which aims to get release of the party founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

According to sources, the Pakistan army had also been directed to shoot-at -sight if the situation goes out of hand. As per recent reports, four Rangers including five policemen were injured in the incident.

Security sources stated, in a recent tally almost 25 policemen have been martyred while more than 100 have been injured in the violent protests.

The development came after the government and PTI refused the reports of negotiations.
