ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (PBE&OE) has issued a warning to job seekers to stay alert against fraudulent overseas employment offers, particularly those demanding advance payments.

The bureau advisory states that any overseas job that requires payment for visa fees, recruitment charges, or processing costs should be treated as a red flag.

Legitimate employers cover these expenses themselves and never demand money upfront from candidates. The bureau reported that scammers use attractive job offers to gain victim trust before disappearing after collecting money.

The perpetrators stop all communication by disconnecting phone numbers and using fake names. The authorities warned that genuine overseas recruitment happens only through licensed recruitment agencies or official government channels.

Jobseekers should demand proper documentation instead of trusting verbal assurances while reporting any suspicious job offers to the authorities.

The bureau explained that timely reporting enables protection for both individual candidates and all other Pakistanis against these scams. Jobseekers must check all overseas employment opportunities before they make any commitments or payments.
