ISLAMABAD: The Federal government has introduced a significant change for the upcoming Hajj season in 2025 – a three-installment payment plan for pilgrims.

This plan requires applicants to pay an initial deposit of Rs. 200,000 along with their application. After the selection process through balloting, the remaining dues will be collected in two separate installments, with the final payment due in mid-February.

Scheduled banks across the country will start accepting applications for the government’s regular Hajj scheme by mid-month. The official Hajj Policy 2025 will be announced by Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain upon his return from abroad next week.

New Health Guidelines for Pilgrims

To ensure the safety and well-being of all pilgrims, new health guidelines have been introduced. These guidelines prohibit individuals with severe health conditions from participating in the pilgrimage.

This includes Those suffering from severe heart, liver, or lung diseases, individuals with neurological or psychological conditions, pregnant women in their seventh month, and people affected by communicable illnesses, including influenza, meningitis, COVID-19, and polio.

These health restrictions aim to maintain a manageable and secure environment for participants.

For those interested in applying, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony provides resources and information on their website, including Hajj training schedules, flight schedules, and FAQs.

Private Hajj packages will also be available for 2025, with details to be announced after the government Hajj scheme application process is completed.
