UNITED STATES: Pakistan on Friday threatened that any Middle war would have catastrophic outcomes for the region as a  whole, and urged full support for the Iranian nation by the country’s permanent representative.

Addressing an emergency session, Asim Iftikhar declared that the UN Security Council needs to denounce the Israeli assaults against Iran.

He said the Israeli aggression was not merely a breach of the UN Charter but also international law and a danger to the whole region. Israel had breached Irans sovereignty, he informed the assembly, as the Security Council convened to learn ways and means to end the war and frustrate the efforts to widen the conflict.

Pakistan is presently holding a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council and has been actively presenting the Iranian cause on the international platform.
