Pakistan slams Indian PM Narendra Modi’s recent hate-filled remarks

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has warily condemned the recent remarks from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and has characterized them as “hate-filled and violent.”

In a statement released from the Foreign Office spokesperson, Pakistan said these comments “are not only contrary to diplomatic norms, but they also violate the stipulations of the United Nations.”

“The statement made by Prime Minister Modi reflects a reckless and provocative mindset,” the spokesperson said, adding that Pakistan considers the remarks a deliberate attempt to provoke conflict in the region.

The Foreign Office stated Pakistan will defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any attempt to undermine it. “Pakistan has every capacity to respond to any aggression,” said the spokesperson.

The spokesperson called upon the international community to take note and said that India‘s incendiary rhetoric is a danger to peace and stability in the region.

“The objective of Modi’s statement is to deflect attention away from India’s attempts at territorial changes, and the severe human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.”

The spokesperson reinforced Pakistan’s historical commitment to peace and international cooperation. “Pakistan remains a leading contributor to global peacekeeping under the auspices of the United Nations and continues to play an active role in international community counter-terrorism actions,” the statement noted.

Calling on India to think about the rise of extremism within its borders, the spokesperson continued, “Peace is only possible with mutual respect, and working according to international law.” Modi, in his speech in Gujarat, was making direct threats to the people of Pakistan.
