KHARIAN: The 9th International Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) Competition concluded in a grand manner in Kharian, showcasing the courage, skill and endurance of soldiers from all over the world.
The grand closing ceremony was graced by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir COAS and CDF, who appreciated the exceptional professionalism and unwavering spirit of the participants.
The 60-hour patrol exercise, which began in the semi-mountainous region of Punjab on February 5, tested the participants to their limits, developing tactical innovation, operational skills and team spirit in a realistic and challenging environment.
Pakistan not only demonstrated its military prowess but also strengthened ties with armies around the world, proving that courage, skill and teamwork know no borders.
This year’s competition saw an unprecedented international participation from 19 countries, including the US, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt and Bangladesh. Observers from Indonesia, Myanmar and Thailand also participated, while 16 elite domestic teams from the Pakistan Army and Navy competed, with the Air Force sending observers.
Addressing the ceremony, the COAS and CDF commended all the teams for displaying outstanding endurance, operational capability, and high morale, stressing that multinational exercises like PATS are crucial for enhancing collective preparedness and adapting to modern warfare.
Highlighting the core values of character, courage and capability, the COAS and CDF reaffirmed the commitment of Pakistani soldiers, especially in the ongoing war against terrorism. Awards were presented to the most outstanding participants, while the international observers appreciated the high standard of professionalism and organization.
In a special visit, the COAS and CDF visited the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) Pabbi, which also included the newly launched tactical simulator, commended the soldiers and technical teams and stressed the importance of simulator-based training to complement conventional exercises.
