Pakistan unveils Fitrana, Fidyah amounts for Ramadan 2026

ISLAMABAD: The Islamic Ideology Council of Pakistan has announced the rates of Sadaqah al-Fitr and Fidyah for the year 2026, which are paid for breaking the fast.

According to Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Chairman of the Islamic Ideology Council, the minimum amount of both Fitrana and Fidyah has been set at Rs 300 per person for the current year.

The prices of Fitrana and Fidyah vary depending on the type of food item. Barely has been set at Rs 1,100, while dates cost Rs 1,600, raisins Rs 3,800 and dried figs (Maniqa) Rs 5,400.

The Fidyah for 30 fasts for wheat will be Rs 9,000 and for barley Rs 33,000.

The Fidyah for dates will be Rs 48,000, raisins Rs 114,000 and dried figs Rs 162,000.

The expiation for 30 days of fasting for government-supplied flour will be Rs. 6,000, while the Zakat-ul-Fitr and expiation for using government-supplied flour will be Rs. 200 per person.

Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi also emphasized that Zakat-ul-Fitr is an obligatory charity for every Muslim, including men, women and children.

Furthermore, the expiation for intentionally breaking the fast is either to fast for 60 consecutive days or to feed 60 needy people twice a day.
