ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that a strong westerly wave is likely to reach the western/upper parts of the country on Monday night and will affect the upper and central regions from March 25 to 27.
Under the influence of this weather system, rain with strong winds/winds and thundershowers is likely at a few places in Diamer, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Guanche and Shigar of Gilgit-Baltistan and Neelum Valley of Kashmir, Muzaffarabad, Rawalpindi, Havelian, Bakch, Havelian and Kashmir. Sudhanuti, Kotli, Bhimber and Mirpur at intervals from March 25 to 28.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a few heavy rains/hailstorms with wind/snow (snow on high mountains) are likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakza, Peshawar, Charsadda, Charmagh, Swat and adjoining areas. 25 to 27 March with occasional breaks.
Wind/snowstorms and thundershowers are likely in Waziristan, Kohat, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Bannu and DI Khan on 25 and 26 March. Isolated hailstorms are also expected during this period.
Additionally, hail and thundershowers are likely in Murree, Galiat, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad from 25 to 7 March.
On 25 and 26 March, there is a possibility of wind/snowstorm and thundershowers in Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab, Bhakkar, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, TT Singh, Jhang, Muzaffargarh, Taunsa Sharif and Khanewal.
On 25 and 26 March, there is a possibility of rain, thundershowers and thundershowers in Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Musakhel, Chaman, Mastung, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Loralai, Barkhan, Sibi, Khuzdar, Chagai and Noshki.
However, gusty/dusty winds are expected at isolated places in the upper areas of the province from March 25 and 26.
