ISLAMABAD: Tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border escalated further as Pakistani forces responded decisively to unprovoked aggression by the Afghan Taliban, security sources confirmed.
In a latest development, Pakistani troops have reportedly taken control of the Taliban’s Topser post, which is located opposite the Kurram sector on the Afghan side of the border. A video of the operation has surfaced, showing Pakistani soldiers advancing towards the Taliban-held position.
According to security sources, the Topser post had been used by the Taliban to carry out aggressive activities and cross-border firing. In response, Pakistani troops launched a precision ground offensive, resulting in the capture of the post.
The video footage released shows Pakistani forces moving strategically towards the post under the cover of military coordination, highlighting the army’s operational capability in securing key locations along the volatile border region.
Military officials stated that the action was part of a broader campaign to neutralize Taliban positions used to launch attacks on Pakistani territory, especially in areas like Kurram, Chitral, and Bajaur, where border tensions have spiked in recent days.
The Pakistani military maintains that it remains committed to defending its sovereignty and protecting civilians from cross-border threats. The situation remains tense, and further developments are being closely monitored.
