PESHAWAR: The owner of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) team Peshawar Zalmi and chairman of the Zalmi Foundation, Javed Afridi, has announced Rs50 million to support the Pakistan Armed Forces after the successful completion of Operation Bunyan Marsoos.

Afridi announced the prize on his social media account X, formerly known as Twitter.

According to Afridi, the donation is being made in recognition of the bravery and sacrifice made by Pakistan’s military. He thanked them for their ongoing tenacity and dedication and recognized their role in protecting the nation’s sovereignty.

The Zalmi Foundation, which has previously participated in several social development projects throughout the nation, such as cricket competitions and sports academies, is donating.

Earlier, the Punjab Assembly passed a resolution honoring the heroes of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos. Hina Pervaiz Butt, a member of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), submitted the resolution.

The resolution’s text praised the Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) unmatched military capabilities. The operation was also hailed as a prime example of foiling the enemy’s plans.

The resolution stated that by eliminating the enemy’s most sophisticated assets, PAF pilots created history. It claimed that the enemy was demoralized by the PAF’s technological superiority and steely resolve.

“This House reaffirms its determination that Pakistan is unbeatable.”

The resolution stated that the country honors the ghazis and martyrs who defended the motherland and that the highest national honors should be given to the ghazis and martyrs.

It also suggested that the government include Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos in the curriculum and national festivities.
