ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a substantial reduction in Umrah fares, allowing pilgrims to travel to the holy city of Madinah at a significantly lower cost.

As per the PIA spokesperson, the aim of this initiative is to make Umrah more affordable for pilgrims. Effective immediately, the new discounted fares will be applicable till July 15, 2024.

Pilgrims traveling from Karachi to Madinah can now avail round trip fares of PKR 76,000 excluding taxes. The round trip fare has been reduced to Rs 86,000 for those traveling from Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Multan and Sialkot.

This reduction in fares represents a significant savings for passengers. Earlier the round trip fare for Umrah was Rs 120,000.

The new fare structure also includes a reduction of PKR 34,000, making the pilgrimage more accessible to a larger number of pilgrims.

A PIA spokesperson emphasized that the discount is part of the airline’s commitment to facilitate religious travel and meet the needs of the community. PIA aims to enable more people to perform Umrah with ease and convenience by reducing travel costs.

Passengers are advised to book their tickets immediately to take advantage of these reduced fares, as the offer is only valid till mid-July. The reduction in fares is expected to increase bookings, so early booking is recommended.
