ISLAMABAD: In response to the growing trend of passengers capturing photos and videos onboard, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has launched a concerted effort to enforce a strict ban on photography and videography during flights.

The airline has begun making regular announcements to remind travelers of the prohibition, which is by Pakistan’s aviation regulations and global industry practices.

The ban specifically targets critical phases of flight, such as takeoff and landing, where photography and videography can pose a distraction to the flight crew and compromise safety protocols.

PIA’s decision to enforce this rule is designed to protect the privacy of passengers and prevent potential incidents that could arise from unauthorized filming or photography.

Moreover, by curbing unauthorized photography, PIA aims to minimize distractions and maintain focus on safety protocols during flights.

The airline’s initiative reflects a growing awareness within the aviation industry about the importance of safeguarding passenger privacy and maintaining strict adherence to safety regulations.

In addition, PIA’s spokesperson emphasized that the ban is in line with global aviation practices and is part of the airline’s commitment to ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all passengers.

The airline has already started training its staff to enforce the rule, and passengers can expect to see increased vigilance during flights.
